Dhammikarama Burmese Temple, built in 1803, is the sole and oldest Burmese Buddhist temple in Penang. The temple is situated directly across Thai Temple Wat Chaiyamangkalaram. At this temple, see the Standing Buddha, count the animals parts in "Pancarupa" and throw some coins in the "fountain of life" for good luck.

The Hakka Chinese came and planted durian and the Malays planted paddy and fruit trees.
