“Poema del Mar, located at the Puerto de La Luz in Las Palmas, symbolizes the showcase of the marine biodiversity of the islands and the planet. Inspired by the work of the great painter Néstor de la Torre, it is in an aquarium that will house 350 species in areas of fresh and salt water. Among its new inhabitants stand out giant stripe chaophraya (Himantura chaophraya); or the human fish (Proteus anguinus), which is the first time that it is exhibited in an aquarium; different species of seahorses; and sharks, among other exotic animals.”
