About this activity
If the Alhambra is the highlight of the Muslim side of Granada, the Cathedral is the heart of the Christian city. On this 90-minute walking tour with a Spanish-speaking guide you’ll begin with a visit to the Cathedral, built on the site of a mosque by Queen Isabella after the conquest of Granada.

Admire this masterpiece of Spanish Renaissance style, with its impressive façades and stunning interior that includes a grand altar and several chapels. Carlos V, always respectful of the memory of his ancestors, ensured that the Cathedral was built in accordance with the desires of the Catholic kings.

Continue on to the Royal Chapel, which is surrounded by the Granada Cathedral, the Church of Sagrario and the Madraza Palace. Built between 1505 and 1517 in the Isabelline Gothic style, the Chapel was dedicated to St. John the Baptist and St. John the Evangelist.
