This tour is very good to get a sense of what Serra Nevada is all about.

Sierra Nevada is the second highest mountain range in Europe, raising up to 3.479 m.

It is also the southernmost mountain chain of its kind in Europe, mixing mediterranean clima with high altitude mountains. In fact, scientists labeled it as THE MOST BIODIVERSE place in Europe.

We will begin at an altitude of 2.500 m., then we'll go down trough a former glacial valley which still preserves the "U" shape and some picturesque rocks as "Rôche moutonnées". Ths is a term for a rock formation created by the passing of a glacier.

We also will see a river with some waterfalls, and beautiful pasturelands known as "borreguiles". Some beautiful butterflies will cross in our way too.

Finally, we'll have a very good view of the high peaks of Sierra Nevada (Mulhacen, Alcazaba and veleta).
