About this activity

Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Sapa at 9.10 am or welcome you at the local office ( 13 Xuan Vien str, Sapa, Lao Cai , Viet Nam) to meet your group to depart to Lao Chai village with a small car, taking about 20 minutes. The day is devoted to a beautiful hike through the breathtaking scenery of Sapa valley, on which you can admire the rice terraces hidden behind the morning mist - a truly awe-inspiring sight.

Follow a small track and cross Muong Hoa River to pass well tended rice terraces on your way to the village of Lao Chai, where the minority group of Black Hmong live. Continuing through the colorful rice terraces, you will reach the village of Ta Van Giay. As you continue your trek along the Muong Hoa River, cross a small suspension bridge roughly 2km from the settlement and discover a fascinating collection of rock carvings. These engravings depict some beautiful images of man, stilt houses and beautiful decorative patterns.

Enjoy lunch in a local home in the village, after which the walk continues through a bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai, a Red Dao ethnic minority village. Take a rest nearby a waterfall to refresh, before starting climbing uphill to a road, where the car is ready for your journey back to Sapa at around 3:00 pm.
