Itinerary

Day 1: Day 1 : Hanoi - Cuc Phuong national park (L,D)

Stop At: Cuc Phuong National Park, Ninh Binh Vietnam
Morning drive to Cuc Phuong National Park 130km south of Hanoi. Short visit to the Endangered Primate Rescue Centre with a specialist guide from the park. Check in the Guest House inside the park. Have Lunch. In the afternoon we observe the birds gathering in the Botanical Garden and in the lush rain forest.
These are some kinds of birds you can find at Cuc Phuong national park: Chestnut-necklaced Partridge, Silver Pheasant, Grey Peacock Pheasant, Red-collared Woodpecker, Red-vented Barbet, Brown Hornbill, Spot-bellied Eagle Owl, Pied Falconet, Malayan Night Heron, Bar-bellied Pitta, Eared Pitta, Blue-rumped Pitta, Rachet-tailed Treepie, White-winged Magpie, White-tailed Flycatcher, Spotted Forktail, Limestone Wren Babbler, Rufous-throated Fulvetta and Black-browed Fulvetta.
Dinner and relax.
Overnight at the Park Guest house.

Day 2: Day 2 : Cuc Phuong national park - Bird watching(B,L,D)

Stop At: Cuc Phuong National Park, Ninh Binh Vietnam
6:00am - 8:30am - Rise early to bird watching with a special bird watching guide from the park.
8:30am - Have breakfast.
After breakfast, continue viewing a variety of endangered bird species. Trekking the trail through a wood of giant trees. Return to the guesthouse in late afternoon. Dinner, relax and overnight inside the park.

Day 3: Day 3 : Cuc Phuong national park - Van Long natural reserve (B,L,D)

Stop At: Van Long Nature Reserve, Ninh Binh Vietnam
Rising early this morning with the sounds of the forest all around us. After breakfast, we will leave Cuc Phuong for Van Long Natural Reserve. Do some biking around the country side of Van Long. Have lunch in a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, We will take a rowing boat trip along this beautiful wetland of Van Long Natural Reserve, enjoying spectacular scenery surrounded by rice paddies and towering limestone mountain peaks. These are some kind of birds you can find at Van Long natural reserve: Pheasant-tailed Jacana, White-browed Crake, Asian Openbill, Yellow Bittern, Cinnamon Bittern, White-throated Kingfisher.
Overnight at Van Long Garden resort.

Day 4: Day 4 : Van Long - Trang An complex - Thung Nham bird park (B,L,D)

Stop At: Trang An Landscape Complex, Ky Lan Tan Thanh, Ninh Binh 430000 Vietnam
After breakfast we leave Van Long to Trang An. Visit Trang An Scenic Landscape complex nearby which recently recognized as an UNESCO World natural heritage, get on a rowing boat (small sampan) traveling along the small river with scenic mountain and green fields landscape. Boat takes you to visit cave complex of Trang An: Sang Cave, Toi Cave, Ba Giot Cave, Nau Ruou in mystery and wildness, the scenery of mountain and rivers – Halong bay on land of Ninh Binh.
Have lunch at a local restaurant.
Check in your hotel then do biking to Thung Nham bird park. Thung Nham is a living space of many birds such as stork, heron, mallard, Forktail, etc. Especially, there are also two rare species in the Red Data Book, flamingo, and Phoenix.
Back to the resort late in the afternoon.

Day 5: Day 5 : Tam Coc - Xuan Thuy Ramsar (B,L,D)

Stop At: Xuan Thuy National Park, Giao Thủy District, Nam Dinh, Vietnam
After breakfast, we will leave Tam Coc for Xuan Thuy national park - the first Ramsar site in Vietnam. Check in and have lunch at the guest house of the park.
In the afternoon, you will be going around for bird watching with a park bird guide. Dinner and overnight at the Park's Guesthouse.

Day 6: Day 6 : Xuan Thuy - Hanoi (B,L,)

Stop At: Xuan Thuy National Park, Giao Thủy District, Nam Dinh, Vietnam
Almost a full day of bird watching started with a boat trip around the wetland area, including Lu and Vanh Islets and thru mangrove forest. This area is the seagate of the Red River, the second biggest one in Vietnam, originated from China mainland which makes the fertile Red River Delta. If we come here in wintertime, we could have very potential chances to see special species of birds of East Asia - Australia flyway such as Black-faced Spoonbill, Spoon-billed Sandpiper, Spotted Greenshank, Saunders's Gull, Asian Dowitcher etc. Packed lunch served during the trip.
Drive back to Hanoi late in the afternoon.
