Spoon Painting with Local Artist Svay Em

You might have noticed paintings in the markets around town depicting every aspect of Cambodian life, from the floating villages of the Tonle Sap to the rolling rice fields and the quintessential Angkor sunset. These paintings are the work of talented local artists each with his or her own style and characteristics. One of the most interesting forms of painting we have come across from our community is the art of spoon painting, where you use the spoon as a brush to paint.

By default, the host will use oil paint, however, if you are leaving Siem Reap the next day, we recommend to do the acrylic.
