About this activity

Everything imaginable is included: we're only missing you! Included are: five-star restaurant lunch, cold drinks, water, and experienced driver/guide. Arrive back at your hotel after a day full of natural history, stories, legends, and memories.

Depart Waikoloa - From either Waikoloa or Kohala resorts, we will gladly pick you up right at your hotel! For Kona travelers, we will meet you at the Queen's Marketplace rear entrance near the food court.
King Kamehameha Statue - Travel through the towns of Hawi and Kapa'au; two of the Big Island's most whimsical villages. We'll arrive at the original King Kamehameha The Great statue for a brief photo session with "The King."
Pololu Valley Lookout - Home to some of the Big Island's first sugar cane plantations, the drive out to the majestic views of Pololu Valley are simply breathtaking! Take in the views of a black sand beach and wild horses roaming free below.
Merriman’s Restaurant - Waimea - For some, the opportunity to dine at Peter Merriman's signature restaurant in the town of Waimea may be the highlight of their tour. The creator of "Hawaii Regional Cuisine," Chef Peter Merriman has treated many locals and visitors with his signature "Farm to Table" style dining. Chef Merriman selects only the freshest ingredients selected from right here on the Big Island. Fine dining in the heart of Waimea is a foodie's dream! (See Itinerary for a sample menu.)
Parker Ranch Homes – Puuopelu - This stop at a ranch home is a rare and unique opportunity to experience paniolo (cowboy) life. Step inside Hale Mana home of first Hawaiian cowboy - John Palmer Parker. A sailor from Massachusetts, Parker arrived in Hawaii in 1809, departed, and then returned five years later to shoot wild cattle that had overpopulated the area. This enormous ranch once spanned nearly 250,000 acres!
Waipio Valley Lookout - Travel further through the lush greenery towards the town of Honoka'a and experience the Valley of the Kings; a panoramic view, once the home of Hawaiian royalty. View taro fields, vast expanses of blue Hawaiian water, and a valley that seems to go on forever. This must be heaven!
Hamakua Macadamia Nut Factory - End your day sampling Hawaii Island's biggest food export - macadamia nuts! Enjoy the large factory where they process, sort, and roast one of Hawaii's tastiest treats. Coffee, ice cream, popcorn, and other Hawaiian keepsakes can be purchased here.
Hotel Return - The short road back to the hotel provides spectacular Kohala coast views. Look back on an amazing day that you won't soon forget! Aloha and A hui hou!
