Our experienced guide picks you up, then start our journey through main streets and narrow back alleys. There you learn more about the real local life, connect with locals, troll into night markets, stop at the best eateries to enjoy the unique foods Ho Chi Minh City offers. This is not only a food tour but also a sightseeing tour on which you explore brilliant hidden gems and food areas:
+ Dozens of alleys with lots of interesting things.
+ Su Van Hanh Street – one of the most famous food streets in Saigon.
+ Ho Thi Ky flower market since 1990s – the biggest wholesale flower market hidden in alleys.
+ Cambodian market – one of the most crowded night food markets.
+ Nguyen Thien Thuat apartment buildings since the 1960s.
The followings are eateries and great foods we will serve you on this unique adventure:
+ 1st stop: Su Van Hanh food street
Mini Vietnamese pancake – Round mini yellow cake made by frying batter and shrimp, beansprouts, other toppings on a special flat pan.
Grilled beef in wild betel – Ground beef wrapped in green wild betel, grilled until well-done, served with rice paper, rice noodles, herbs, and secret sauce.
+ 2nd stop: Banh Cuon stall
Steamed roll – a traditional Vietnamese food consisting of very thin steamed rice sheet stuffed with pork and wood ears, topped with vegetables, herbs, Vietnamese roll, pork pate, fried mung bean cake, eaten with dipping fish sauce.
+ 3rd stop: Banh Phong Phung stall
Grilled Vietnamese cracker – a dried thin cake with banana slices or sesame, grilled on charcoal using a pair of grill tools until crispy and smelling.
+ 4th stop: Banh Trang Nuong stall
Vietnamese pizza – The most popular Saigon snack made by grilling thin girdle cake egg, sausage, dried shrimp, and many other toppings on charcoal until crispy.
+ 5th stop: drink stall
Sugarcane juice – Sweet and fragrant extract of sugarcane with some ice – A perfect choice to boost energy and refresh at night.
+ 6th stop: over 60-year Oc restaurant
Grilled scallop with green onion – The most delicious food grilled on charcoal at snail and shellfish restaurants in the city.
Steamed clam with lemongrass – a great seafood dish cooked in a clay pot OR Grilled garlic snail with black pepper sauce – a specialty food of the restaurant.
1 beer/soft drink – trying 1 shot of local beer (“Nhậu”) while eating is worth doing in Saigon.
If you could not eat shellfish and snail dishes, we have many alternatives on the menu.
