Hobart's 'Big Three' Day-Tour Value Package - Port Arthur, MONA & Bruny Island
3 days
About this activity
PORT ARTHUR
We start the day at Richmond, Australia’s best-preserved colonial village, before we head south to the Tasman Peninsula and visit the Tasman National Park for some amazing views of the rugged coastline. Arriving at Port Arthur Historic Site we discover the story of this convict settlement and the chilling realities of life as a prisoner amid the preserved gaol ruins. At the historic site we join a guided tour, take a harbour cruise and have plenty of time left to explore. On our way back to Hobart we’ll stop by the remarkable natural features of Tasman Arch, Devils Kitchen and the Blowhole.
MT WELLINGTON & MONA
We start by heading to the summit of kunanyi/Mt Wellington to enjoy stunning views over Hobart and Southern Tasmania. From the summit we offer the spectacular Organ Pipes walk for the adventurous, or some shorter walking options to explore the mountain for those looking for a more relaxed morning. Coming down from the mountain there is some free time for lunch on Hobart’s waterfront before boarding the ferry to Mona museum. Described by its creator as a ‘subversive adult Disneyland’ Mona is Tasmania’s most visited tourist attraction and offers visitors a unique and memorable experience.
BRUNY ISLAND
Bruny Island is home to unique wildlife (including the white Bennetts wallabies), amazing scenery, rich indigenous history and delicious local produce. After a short ferry ride across the D’entrecasteaux Channel we’ll head to Cape Bruny and the Bruny Island Lighthouse, stopping along the way for some spectacular views at the Neck lookout. Next we’ll enjoy great coastal walks and stunning beaches, including Adventure Bay for a quick swim (conditions permitting) before we look for the local white Bennetts wallabies. Bruny Island is famous for its delicious produce and we will have opportunities to sample some delicious food including cheese and oysters.
Please note that accommodation is not included in this package and that tour days may be in a slightly varied order.
