2 Day Heaven's Gate Biking Caving

2 days
About this activity
Day 1 (70 km biking)

Our guide will pick you up at your hotel and transfer for an hour to the trail head. Be prepared for a day of rolling hills, slowly climbing into the mountains and on to the famous Ho Chi Minh Trail.

This afternoon you will be in the heart of the mountainous region bordering Laos, home to the Co Tu hill tribe, an ethnic minority community of isolated villages where tradition and culture have been relatively unaffected. We will continue on to Bho Hoong, a traditional Co Tu Village where we will stay for the night. Spend the rest of the evening relaxing and enjoying the beauty of Central Viet Nam, or if time permits we can take a light trek through the village and into the surrounding jungles and riverside.

Dinner will be served at the village with the traditional dishes of the local people.

Day 2 (Heaven gate caving/abseiling)

Cong Troi (Heaven’s Gate) Cave is a bridge connecting two separate mountains in the middle of a virgin forest near the Bhom Lom River. The cave is a gateway, through which you must pass in order to access an amazing expanse of untouched and unspoiled forest. Cong Troi is composed of both massive stalactites and stalagmites forming arches and pillars. These formations are caused by the deposit of minerals by water droplets over thousands of years.

Your day of discovery combines trekking through the river and tropical forest, rapelling 50 meter down into a cave, traversing 300 meters along Pra Zoong cave, and finally a 15 meter rappel down a waterfall. Enjoy picnic lunch at the bottom at the falls and have time to swim at a small pool near the base. Finally we will hike back to the main road to meet our van and transfer 2 hours back to Hoi An or Da Nang.
