Neve Shalom Synagogue opened in 1951, replacing a Jewish primary school. Neve Shalom is the only active synagogue in Istanbul that you can visit without prior arrangement. The Museum of Turkish Jews is in the synagogue too, with wonderful interactive displays and ethnographic material.

The Galata Tower is 63 meters tall. It was built on the northern end of the citadel in 1348 as part of the Genoese defence system, and was called "The Tower of Christ". It's stone walls are almost 4 meters thick.

The Schneidertempel means the Tailors' Synagogue. It was founded in 1894 by the Association of Ashkenazi Tailors, and was converted into an art gallery in 1998. It's a beautiful spot to visit if you're into fashion or art, or if you just want to visit the synagogue. It's free entry and you can take pictures too.
