About this activity
After meeting your private tour guide at your hotel, your Istanbul journey begins with a drive to the historic peninsula and a visit to the Church of the Holy Savior in Chora (Kariye Museum), a museum located on the site of an old Byzantine monastery complex.

Only the church section has survived. After visiting the Chora Museum you will take a trip through the illuminated interior of the Sunken Cistern, a sublime underwater reservoir featuring 336 Corinthian columns that dates back to the 6th century. The next visit will be to the Turkish Islamic Arts Museum which is a treasure house of beautiful objects from the Seljuk ( 11th – 13rh centuries ) to Ottoman ( 14th – 20th centuries) period. And also earlier periods begining in the 8th century.

Your last visit will be to the Egyptian Bazaar (Spice Bazaar), built in 1664 as a part of the nearby Yeni Cami complex where they sell dried fruit, borek, basket work, jewelry, haberdashery, draperies and the like.

After the tour, we will provide transportation back to your hotel.
