Lava Fields Jeep Tour

This 2 hour Jeep Tour is an epic introductory to the island and takes you off-roading through remote lava fields. Please communicate with your guide upon arrival at the pickup location if you would like a doors-on or doors-off experience. Our Guide is more like a local friend who will share Hawaiian history, stories, and help you to plan out the rest of your vacation on the island. Our first stop is a rare lava tube cave. Then we will drive over multiple phases of off-roading until we get to a portion that doesn't have any road. You'll be traversing over 200-year-old lava fields on an active volcano (don't worry, this volcano hasn't erupted since the 1800s.) We will then arrive at Kona's only hidden black sand beach where we will walk around and explore the Martian-like terrain. Make sure to look around for Hawaiian Monk Seals, Dolphins, Whales and even tiny and rare Hawaiian Red Lobsters (smaller than a grain of rice!) When we are ready to go, we will lava crawl our Jeep over the terrain and head back to the parking lot while we enjoy the views of the Martian terrain and an active volcano in the background.
