About this activity
Experience an in-depth sightseeing excursion to the spiritual and religious centre of the country. Admire the magnificent basilica and seventeenth century monastery – the finest example of baroque architecture - not only a shrine, but set on a hill, unconquerable and a massive fortress.

The monastery of Jasna Góra is home to the miraculous "Black Madonna", a Byzantine painting of Our Lady, especially liked by Jan Pawel II. Its unusual name refers to the colour of Madonna's skin. The painting came to Poland around the XIVth century originating in the East. We do not have any information on the artist or the date it was created.

It's believed to have miraculous properties and a wondrous history. Many people, past and present claim to witness a miracle of the Black Madonna.
