About this activity
Let us propose a 3-hour tour to explore the district of Kazimierz, Krakow’s arty neighborhood characterized by lovely small streets and trendy cafés. This is an area comprised of buildings that witnessed Krakow’s Holocaust.

Before World War II, Jewish culture flourished in this neighborhood for centuries. Steven Spielberg filmed scenes from his Oscar award winning-movie Schindler’s List here.

You’ll continue on to the district of Podgórze to see Oskar Schindler's factory (entrance fee not included) and the remnants of the World War II ghetto that have survived.

In Kazimierz you’ll visit Wolnica Square, the former Jewish district with its synagogues, and the old meat market. In Podgórze district you’ll see the main square of the former ghetto, the remains of the ghetto wall, and Oscar Schindler's factory building.

Afterwards you’ll have time for a half-hour coffee break to discuss the rebirth of the Jewish quarter, and hear about local legends and customs.
