About this activity

9am - You will be collected from your hotel to take a 40 minute trip to your guide's village in the Pouk District, towards Battambang Province

10am - Enjoy a leisurely walking tour through the village taking in the atmosphere and the animals! Expect to see cows, buffalo, dogs, cats, chickens and local bird life along the way! Stop by a few friends and family to visit along the way.

11am - Visit the local pagoda before stopping at what little remains of the ancient temple that once stood in this village.

12pm - Welcome to your family home! Learn a little about the typical Cambodian family unity and how the people all live together, see the outdoor kitchen used for cooking and meet your guides family who will be ready to welcome you into their home. Enjoy a local lunch, cooked just for you after which, in true Cambodian form, you spend 30 minutes or so relaxing after lunch.

1pm - Now it's time for a little adventure... Hop on the back of a typical local tractor for a slightly bumpy ride down a dirt road to visit the family's rice fields. Here you will learn about Cambodia's 'white gold' and how rice farming sustains entire villages.

1:30pm - Bid farewell to your family hosts and jump back in the tuk tuk and return to your hotel in Siem Reap
