Mount Ijen Sunrise Hiking

Your Driver as your guide will pick you up at 11:00 p.m in your hotel. From your hotel, you will go to Glilmanuk Harbor in west Bali. It is about 3 hours to reach Gili Manuk Harbor.
From Gili Manuk you will cross by ferry about 30 minutes to reach Ketapang Harbor in East Java. From Ketapang you will ride different car to go to Mount Ijen parking area and it will take about one and a half hours. At 3:00 a.m. or 3:30 a.m. from start point you will start to climb with your professional guide. The Guide will give you a flashlight because you climb trough the darkness. Normal time needed to climb is about 1 half to 2 hours and you will reach the top of vulcano around 4:30 a.m. Sunrise time is usally in 5:30 a.m . While waiting for the sunrise your guide will make bonfire because the top temperature is very cold. Other interesting things you will see are the amazing view of Mount Ijen with the best panorama and view of other mountain when yu climb down.

Down the crater of Mount Ijen is an action that is prohibited by the government and is very dangerous because rocks can be landslide at any time. So don't go down there!

Your Guide will give jacket before start hiking or you can bring your own jacket or hoodie.

The first thing to do is to mount Mount Ijen, it's perfect to go there in a summertime from April to October. You can enjoy the best view of Mount Ijen in those months.
