Your walking tour starts at 9:00 am by meeting in front of ticket gate JR Saga Arashiyama Station in Kyoto. After your local guide explains about the tour, you will start walking to Arashiyama central area to see the famous Togetsukyo Bridge. The bridge is very photogenic and you will have plenty of time to take a lot of photos.

Then you will take a public bus to go Daikakuji Temple located in northern area of Sagano. It was originally built in the early 8th century as the detached palace of Emperor Saga, who thoroughly enjoyed spending time in this calm area on the outskirts of Kyoto. There is large and oldest artificial ponds in Japan. Around the ponds there is more than 650 maple and cherry blossom trees. You will enjoy the temple and garden and colorful mountain there.

Later take a public bus to a remote area of Sagano. Visit a temple that is not known by many travelers where you can fully enjoy the serenity of the area even during one of the busiest seasons. There is a temple with a collection of 1200 unique and whimsical statues. It’s a rarely visited and interesting place that rewards the adventurous visitor. Then walk down to the Sagano area and take a break in a traditional Japanese cafe. Take a seat and enjoy some traditional Japanese sweets while indulge in the atmosphere.

After the break, continue exploring the local area by visiting one more temple that is famous for beautiful autumn leaves. Afterwards stroll through the Bamboo Forest and visit a famous garden surrounded by beautiful autumn leaves. When the tour concludes, you will be taken to JR Saga Arashiyama Station around 1:00 pm for your onward journey.
