Kyoto Mount Takao Hiking Tour

1 day
About this activity
Nicolas, our fearless trailblazer, wants to share with you his passion for Kyoto’s lush countryside. Nicolas spend many years in Corsica where he cultivated his love for mountains and amassed an impressive knowledge on flowers and animals. He arrived in Kyoto in 2003 and has, since then, walked and explored in depth the city’s nearby ridges.

Start this 6 hours and around 8 km day hike on Kyoto’s mount Takao, with an easy ascending elevation perfect for family by discovering Kozan-ji: a wonderful UNESCO world heritage temple isolated from the crowds. After the lunch break, follow the lapping path along Kyototaki river as Nicolas helps you discover the world of flowers and trees hidden in plain sight.

This easy hike is ideal for families and trekking amateurs. It’s only one hour away by bus from Kyoto and it’s the best way to take a breath of fresh air.
