Arenal Volcano National Park Walk

About this activity
Our most popular tour explores the trails at Arenal Volcano National Park. We start walking on the west side of the volcano, which is the most active. Burned down by the main eruption of 1968 and other more recent eruptions, the forest in this area has been recovering for over a decade now and features very interesting combinations of plants, grasses, and trees. The highlight of the hike is finding, across our path, the impressive lava flow of 1992. It makes a wall of rocks 4 meters high which we can climb. From the top, we get the best view of the mountain and our guide will discuss the history and geology of Arenal. We'll end our hike at a lookout point where well stop hoping to see lava rocks roll down the volcano.
