About this activity
You will start your experience with a visit to the old Cathedral of 'La Asuncion', which took more than a hundred years to build and was finished in 1747. This church is the largest in Central America America and also a world heritage site by UNESCO located at the main square.
You will also see the birth house of Ruben Dario, one of the Spanish-speaking world`s greatest poets known as the father of Modernism. Later, you will see the 'Ortiz Gurdian' art gallery and the El Convento hotel and its colonial architecture. During the walking tour get to know the historic murals of the city and understand the role played by Leon in the social, economic and political development of Nicaragua.
At the end of the tour you will be taken back to your hotel.
