Hone your cooking skills in a convivial Peruvian family atmosphere. During this cooking class you will taste up to 10 flavors, which includes a starter and a dish that you’ll cook yourself following the recipes and tips of your experienced chef, Pía.

The experience includes the visit of a local street market where you will buy the ingredients needed for the cooking class, from Pía's favorite merchants. The market tour will also allow you to taste some seasonal fruits and immerse yourself in a true local market experience – you will be the only tourists, for sure!

Menu

Get carried away by your chef in this 4-hour Peruvian cooking class. Pía will reveal to you her best cooking tips and show you the San Felipe market in Surquillo where you will first stop. It will be the opportunity to buy the ingredients necessary to the preparation of a delicious menu, but also to taste some exotic fruits.
Among the merchants of fruit, vegetables, and meat, you will discover the colors and flavors of a typical Peruvian market.
You will then take the bus to Pia's place to learn, step by step, to cook some of the most emblematic dishes of Peruvian gastronomy.

Although it’s very likely that you will have the chance to taste everything listed below, please note that it’s possible that the menu might slightly change depending on seasonality and product availability. But don’t worry, you won’t feel hungry at the end of this cooking class.

  • Variety of fruits Depending on the season you will taste chirimoya, tuna, granadilla, aguaymanto and more
  • Causa limeña Mashed yellow potatoes seasoned with lime and ají, and filled with seafood and avocado
  • Lomo saltado Sauteed beef tenderloin, a dish of Cantonese legacy
  • Pisco sour Peru’s most famous cocktail, made of pisco, lima, egg white and syrup
  • Chicha morada Natural drink made of purple corn
  • Suspiro a la limeña Traditional dessert made of “manjar blanco”, white of egg and meringue of Porto
