About this activity
Depart from Lisbon, traveling through the picturesque countryside of Alentejo. After arriving in Évora, begin your tour in Geraldo Square in the city center. Learn about the square’s namesake, Gerald the Fearless, who seized the city from the Moors in the 12th century.

Continue on to the Templo de Diana (Diana’s Temple), originally the city’s meeting place. Wander over to the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption, built in the 13th century, and admire its Gothic architecture. Pause for lunch, then visit the Igreja São Francisco de Assis, where you can enter the Capela dos Ossos (Chapel of Bones).

Travel to the Saint José de Peramanca vineyard for a wine tasting, and glimpse its stately Baroque mansion. End your tour with a visit the Cromeleque dos Almendres, a megalithic monument that dates back to the early 3rd millennium BC, considered the largest such monument in the Iberian Peninsula. End your tour back in Lisbon.
