About this activity

With this VIP Parliament Tour with London's Most Exclusive Afternoon Tea, you will have the opportunity to step into one of the most jaw dropping active government building in the world.

While most people use audio guides, you’ll tour the building with an expert guide who can answer all your questions while providing fascinating insight into the art and architecture adorning every corner. Your tour begins when you enter the Palace of Westminster, and are greeted by the cavernous Westminster Hall, which has been hosting state functions and dignitaries from around the globe for for nearly 1,000 years and counting.

As you learn the history of the Palace, you’ll make your way through the building, stopping in the famous rooms like the Queen’s Robing Room, where the Queen puts on her crown before the State Opening of Parliament each year. The stars of the show are the two engine rooms of British democracy: the Chamber of the House of Commons, and the Chamber of the House of Lords. You’ll actually get to step inside both while learning about the history and traditions that help keep the country running.

As a special treat, the tour ends on the terraces of the Palace overlooking the Thames river where you’ll take a traditional English afternoon tea, including cakes, scones, petit fours and other finger foods. From here you’ll have stunning views up and down the river and get a great look at the outside of the Palace of Westminster.
