About this activity
Day1:
• 9:44am We will meet at the Meeting point and go to the ranch.
• 10:30am-1:30pm After explaining the basics and introducing you to the horse, we will have a 2-hour Horse Trail Ride through our lovely Mountain Forests. Open for all levels, thanks to our responsive and easy to ride horses, you will be able to ride even if you never saw a horse before. Enjoy an intimate and fun experience in a scenic route, tall and beautiful trees will give you a fresh feeling, streams and brooks, wild flowers of various colors, cows and bulls, and many other flora fauna.
• 1:30pm-3:00pm Because Riding will make you hungry, we will have lunch at the stables theme restaurant.
• 3:30pm-6pm We will come back to the UNESCO World Heritage town called El Escorial and visit the most important architectural monument of the Spanish 16th Century Renaissance, the “Escorial Monastery”, built by King Philip II. Inside we will see the Royal Spanish Crypt (with all the Spanish king's tombs), the beautiful ancient library, the palace chambers, an important collection of Renaissance paintings and much more.
• 6pm-6:30pm We will be able to chill having a cake/snacks and coffee/tea at an Art Nouveau Style restaurant just after the visit.
• 6:30pm-8:30pm We will go to the Historic Stately House Hotel where we will be sleeping and will have free time to accommodate, walk around the 16th Century UNESCO town…
• 8:30pm-10:30pm After making yourself at home, we will have dinner in a cozy Spanish food restaurant with the best local quality food (wine/sangria included).
Day 2:
• 8:30 am-9:30am We will wake up and have a nice breakfast at the Stately House.
• 10:00am-1:10pm We will start the day with a special 3-hour Hiking in a hidden place 1400 meters above the sea level, surrounded by history: The Valley of the Fallen. During the hike, we will be able to see one of the biggest cross in the world (150 meters high), a memorial to all combatants during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). I will explain the monument’s background history the easiest way I can and from a local’s perspective. Also, we will pass through different monuments placed in different Mountain Tops, where we will be able to take stunning pictures and admire the amazing views, sometimes we will be able to spot some vultures from close!. The Hike is easy-medium level, with several steps up and down, so anyone with good hiking condition will be able to do it.
• 1:30pm-3:00pm Just after the hike and very close to the finish point, lunch will be waiting for us inside a Historic Monastery still running. Sometimes you can see the Monks walking around with their capes…
• 4:00pm We will go back to the Meeting point and say goodbye.
