About this activity
Greet your local guide at Joy Eslava (Calle Arenal 11), to begin an evening of epicurean delights. Head straight to an 150 year old bar for a vermouth aperitif and historic cod fritters, a local delicacy.

On your way to the next venue, your guide will point out historical landmarks and provide an overview of Madrid’s ancient past. Then, duck into a critically acclaimed tapas bar to sample chorizo-stuffed mushrooms washed down with tinto de verano, Madrid’s favorite way to drink wine in the hot summer months.

Wander to the exact point upon which Madrid was founded a whopping 1,500 years ago before settling down at a century-old tavern to taste sizzling garlic shrimp paired with their house red wine. Final stops rotate between two local favorites to give guests a local yet comfortable experience.
