Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech to Ouarzazate

Stop At: Telouet Kasbah, Telouet, Morocco
Escaping Marrakech during your stay, travelling east towards the mountain pass of Tizi n’ Tichka, elevating 2,260 metres in the High Atlas Mountains. A beautiful scenic route, outlining the grandeur of the mountains and the stone built Berber villages. Travelling on the N9 national route, the journey continues ‘off the beaten track’ towards the rural area of Telouet. Your road takes you an existing salt mine to discover how salt was mined; an important commodity for trade and a currency for the purchase of gold and other important goods during the caravan trade route from the Ghani empire via Timbuctoo to Morocco. The historical past of a thriving economical community is further explored with a visit to Kasbah Telouet. The former home of the Glaoui family and the last pasha of Marrakech; Thami el Glaoui.

Stop At: Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou, Douar Ait Ben Haddou, Ait Ben Haddou 45000 Morocco
Travelling towards to Ouarzazate city, a time to enjoy a lunch and walk around the UNESCO heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou. Crossing the footbridge over the Oued Mellah (salt river) to reach the fortified Ksar; a stronghold of the Almoravids in the 11th century. In modern times, a Hollywood movie set location and remains a home to some local residents.

Stop At: Atlas Film Studio, Km 5, road of Marrakech BP 28, Ouarzazate 45000 Morocco
Ouarazate has built his reputation as the film city of Morocco. At the end of day, an opportunity to visit the world of Cinema film studio before your relaxation, overnight stay and dinner in Ouarzazate.

Day 2: Ouarzazate to M'Hamid Desert

Stop At: Kasbah Oulad Othmane, Ouled Otmane, Morocco
Travelling south towards to the Dra valley and the first sighting of the 200 kilometre of palm groves/oases and local farms, stretching north to south route of desert. A local guided tour of the oasis and Kasbah Oulad Othmane with a traditional local lunch.
Duration: 3 hours

Stop At: Desert camping, N9, Zagora 47402, Morocco
The journey continues towards Zagora and travelling further to the untouched sands of M'hamid desert; the gateway to the Sahara Desert. A camel trek to the interior of the dunes with a local guide. A welcome drink of mint tea at your overnight camp and a chance to explore the local sand dunes and sand boarding is an optional activity. After watching the glorious sunset, dinner is served in your camp site followed by an evening of camp fire and local traditional music.

Day 3: M' hamid Desert to Agdz

Stop At: Tamgroute poterie, 28 rue fhel-chiadmi mouassine، Marrakech 40000, Morocco
Day 3

Watching the glorious sunrise over the dunes and breakfast, a camel trek back to your car.

A short drive, takes the small community of Tamegroute, where you can have discover the art of the pottery making of the green ceramics of the local community.

Stop At: Casbah Caravanserail, Oasis Tighmert, Tighmert 81044 Morocco
Your tour continues towards the dra valley, reaching the town of Agdz. Here an opportunity to visit the old kasbah of the town and experience local traditions of carpet weaving and cooking a traditional local dish.

Day 4: Agdz to Marrakech

Pass By: Tizi n Tichka, Imlil Village, Ouarzazate 45000 Morocco
Crossing the main route of travel and via Ouarazaate, takes your journey back to Marrakech. The journey ends in the late afternoon and your driver will escort you back to your booked accomadation.
