Bulawayo - Half Day Matopos Safari Game Drive

6 h
Half Day
About this activity
9:00 AM pick depart Bulawayo for Matopos National Park.

View ancient rock art and roam the plains on a half-day safari game drive in the Matopos National Park. Situated just outside of Bulawayo, this region is scenically arresting, historically interesting and also a fantastic area for a game safari on foot. Guests may choose to head straight to the Matopos National Game Park, where the lack of elephant and lion make for safe walking safari expeditions or opt for a more cultural experience while exploring the Matopos Hills. Game viewing takes place with a personal guide who will help you to track and identify various animal spoors, including rhino, as you admire the birdlife and picturesque flora in the park. Matopos Hills hides treasures of a different kind where you can explore ancient San Bushmen rock paintings and visit the magnificent World’s View, the final resting place of Cecil John Rhodes and the Allan Wilson Patrol Memorial. Wilson was considered a national hero and founding father of Rhodesia and the memorial is where his remains lie.

Return between 2:00 and 3:00pm.
