About this activity
9:00 AM pick depart Bulawayo for Matopos National Park.

Admire the peaceful surrounds of Matopos Hills on a half-day Matopos tour. Depart from Bulawayo at 9am for a short trip to the red-hued, granite boulders and scenic plains of Matopos Hills to delve into history and the intriguing beginnings of civilization. Begin with a visit to the rock art caves where age-old Bushmen left clues as to how they once lived before ascending to the mountain peaks for more awe-inspiring sights. Infamous colonial pioneer, founder of Rhodesia and calculating mining magnate Cecil John Rhodes had a love for Matopos that knew no end, and today his remains still lie in a spot especially selected by him for its breathtaking views and natural serenity among the rolling hills. World’s View is a spectacular vantage point from which to survey the park and also where you will find Rhode’s tomb, carved out of the rock and marked with a brass plaque.

Return between 2:00 and 3:00pm.
