Uxmal, known as “the three times built”, is located in the area of hills called Puuc that breaks the monotonous plain of Yucatan. It is the most important city of the area for having held 20,000 habitants in its glory (600 – 900 a.d.).
The 15 groups of buildings span about 2km, including the pyramid of the magician (35 meters of height), the nunnery and the palace of the governor.

The haciendas have their origin with the parcels at the arrival of the spaniards, they extended to America during the process of colonial expansion.
