Stop At: Floating Gardens of Xochimilco, Mexico City, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast

Enjoy a wonderful day exploring magical places and the secrets of Xochimilco. Taste handmade tlacoyos in the house of a local family well known for its ancient recipes. All the ingredients they use are farmed in their own chinampa, a raised fertile land where indigenous inhabitants grew their food.
Fall in love with the Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl volcanoes while you enjoy traditional tamales, cocoles, and guava atole. Sounds good so far?
The legend says that pulque was the favorite drink of gods and emperors. We’ll take you to a pulque tasting where not only will you experience different and exotic flavors of this ancient beverage, but you will also learn about the production process with a local pulque producer. To pair with this mystical drink, enjoy a delicious local barbacoa.
Let's finish the day gliding along ancient canals with our friends -the chinampa producers- taking us on their wooden canoe all the way to their chinampas. These floating gardens became the economic base of the Aztec Empire and they're now considered a Unesco World Heritage site. Leave your footprint in the community by planting a seed in this place.
