About this activity
Our cooking class will take place in an intimate Mexican cooking studio located in the eclectic Roma Norte neighborhood.
We will start your experience with a welcome fruit-based water beverage "agua fresca" while learning about the history of Mexican cuisine.
Then we will share with you detailed explanations of recipes and ingredients to be ready to head to the kitchen for a hands-on cooking experience.
We will prepare 10 Mexican salsas using various cooking methods including: raw, roasted, cooked, and fried.
Salsas to be prepared are: Traditional Guacamole, Guacamole Aura's Style, Salsa Roja de Molcajete, Salsa Verde Taquera, Salsa Ranchera, Mango and Chile Manzano Salsa, Habanero Salsa, Salsa Diabla, Chile Morita with Nuts Salsa, Chipotle Salsa and Salsa Borracha.
Afterwards, enjoy the salsas with street food tacos and appetizers with a choice of fillings ("carnitas", "cochinita pibil", roasted potatoes, scrambled eggs, sauteed mushrooms, cheese and cactus leaf), paired with "agua fresca" and Mexican beer.
Participants will make by themselves at least 5 different salsas to cover each of the cooking methods, so everyone can have a hands-on learning with the different techniques, and then we will split the remaining of the salsas among the class group. Most salsas are very easy to prepare and have no more than 5 steps.
