About this activity
Join your host for a private cooking demonstration and traditional meal at a contemporary home, built amongst colonial houses in the lively, tree-lined neighborhood of Coyoacan. You'll meet in the home kitchen where you can roll up your sleeves and join in.

You can expect to prepare 2–3 typical Mexican dishes such as chilaquiles (lightly fried corn tortillas) or corn quesadillas with a variety of fillings like mushrooms, peppers, nopales (cactus), huitlacoche (corn fungus), and flor de calabaza (squash flowers), accompanied by beans or a tomato chickpea rice as sides.

The cooking portion of your experience lasts about 1.5 hours. Afterward, feast on the lunch or dinner that you helped prepare, and hear discussions on Mexico's gastronomic heritage. You'll leave with new recipes, an appreciation of Mexican culture, and a true glimpse into local life.
