Why You Shouldn’t Miss This

Often considered the design capital of the world, Milan has enchanted visitors since ancient times. The Milan Cathedral is one of the striking examples of Gothic architecture. The trademark pinnacles and spires are renowned, and the nave stands at 45 meters, making it one of the highest Gothic vaults ever built. The Scala Theatre can be reached by passing through the eye-catching Galleria of Milan.

Existing since 1778, the Scala Theatre has seen some of the greatest performances of musicians and composers, such as Giuseppe Verdi, and continues to be one of the leading opera theatres in the world. The Sforza castle was one of the largest fortresses of the 16th and 17th centuries. It was the seat of power for the family ruling the region of Milan. The remnants of the castle currently house nine different museums and art collections.

Your Experience

You will meet your tour guide at the Milan Cathedral. You can enjoy the delightful views of the setting Sun over Milan as you sip a glass of Spritz or Prosecco and much on some light appetizers. Your first stop is the Milan Duomo Cathedral. Taking nearly six centuries to complete, the Cathedral’s imposing construction and endless spires will leave you in awe. The sheer size of this church will leave you breathless. You will then move onto the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the massive shopping arcade of Milan. The vaulted glass ceiling is spectacular to witness in real life, and the massive dome forms the centerpiece of this iron and glass architecture. The gallery joins the Milan Cathedral with Piazza della Scala, which houses the world-famous Scala Theatre. You can see a statue of Leonardo da Vinci at the center of the square.

Next on the itinerary is a stroll through the Brera District. A multitude of historic buildings, restaurants, and bars can be seen here, and a walk through these scenic streets will take you to the Sforza Castle. You will hear enthralling tales and secrets of this fortress and castle, including those of the families that ruled Milan from here.
