About this activity

After the great success of the exhibition dedicated to this artist in 2012, Palazzo Reale returns to pay homage to Pablo Picasso, showing over 200 works including works by the artist himself and works of ancient art. The exhibition "Picasso Metamorphosis" is dedicated to the multifaceted relationship that the Spanish genius developed with myth and antiquity and boasts loans from the most important European museums, such as the Musée National Picasso, the Musée du Louvre and the Vatican Museums.

The six sections of the exhibition compare the master's works with ceramics, statues, votive plaques and ancient reliefs that inspired and deeply influenced him. Picasso's visual world has in fact been populated since the early works of pseudo-mythological characters and of hybrid beings like centaurs, fauns and minotaurs, sublimations of the autobiographical vicissitudes of the author who are indissolubly linked to ancient symbols.

Avoid the long line at the entrance thanks to skip-the-line tickets and don't miss the opportunity to visit the exhibition with a qualified guide who will take you on a journey to discover the universe of the great Spanish genius, capturing all the references to European classicism in a dialogue between ancient/new and tradition/innovation.
