About this activity
After descending from the hills of Spring Farm drive through the resort area of Rose Hall and drive on in to Montego Bay.
The tour continues to the Hip Strip stopping at Fort Montego for a photo stop. There is also a craft market here for some souvenir shopping. Bartering is a must to make your purchases and choose from the many varieties of wooden crafts, colorful paintings, wicker work and T. Sghirts
Stop at Sam Sharpe Square, where one of Jamaica’s national heroes was hanged for his rebellious activities. There are some statues there for more photo opportunities and includes a dungeon where slaves were locked up. Across from the square you will also visit the Civic Centre museum where you find relics from the past from Tanio Indians to the British.
The old St James Parish Church is the next stop for a brief walking where you will be given the history of the many outstanding citizens buried here.
On leaving the church the last photo stops are at the Dome and an unusual brick building that has been here for over 150 years and was the source of spring water that sufficed Montego Bay at this time.
Other shopping opportunities include Duty Free shops for perfumes and jewelry plus supermarkets for your Blue Mountain Coffee and spices
