About this activity
Meet your Moscow guide in the hotel and depart for a drive through the Moscow city which is inextricably linked with the life and works of Leo Tolstoy.

Our first stop is Estate museum of Tolstoy in Khamovniki.

This manor has an amazing destiny: the house with its premises and even the fence around the Khamovniki’s homestead is invaluable in the historical sense. There are practically no such wooden buildings in Moscow!

The museum is notable for the fact that there is nothing fake or borrowed in it: everything here is just the way it was in its master’s time in 1893—1895.

Next we will proceed for the places connected to Leo Tolstoy “War and Peace” novel: the Kremlin, Poklonnaya Gora, Fili, Kaluzhskaya Zastava, the house of the Rostovs on Povarskaya, and the house of Prince Bolkonsky on Vozdvizhenka, the mansion of the princes Gagarins - the building of the former English club on Tverskaya.

Leo Tolstoy Estate Museum in Chamovniki.

Tolstoy's winter residence is peaceful and almost rural oasis in the boosting Moscow. Leo Tolstoy moved in here in 1882 when his children needed better schooling. The wooden structure of the house and its beautiful garden resembled to Leo his beloved Yasnaya Polyana.

Leo’s strict moral philosophy and simple aesthetic are well seen in the house, which despite its big size had no electricity or running water.

However, the value of the estate is not only about the fact that one of the greatest Russian writers lived there, it is also about 5,000 things of his and his family’s belongings and about the atmosphere accurately recreating the Tolstoys’ lifestyle.

After that we will bring you to the hotel.
