About this activity
Why should I safari in Kenya?
Home to the Masai Mara and the Great Migration, Kenya is one of Africa’s best safari destinations. Kenyan safaris were also the inspiration behind Walt Disney’s 1994 blockbuster, “The Lion King”, so we hope you’re ready for a few childhood flashbacks. What better way to experience safari than on a 10-day tour, with 12 other adventurers who are passionate about exploring and making a difference in the world, while doing daily yoga and mediation with an instructor who has 20+ years experience.
Itinerary
Day 1
Airport pick-up and welcome dinner. Free day activities available.
Day 2
Visit the Nairobi Giraffe Centre and David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage. Both of these charities have been working tirelessly to conserve Africa’s unique wildlife for more than 30 years.
After lunch, be inspired by Thomas Nyawir, a slum boy who through the generosity of a stranger received a gift that changed his life. Today Tommy runs a charity called the Mirror of Hope and is incredibly passionate about empowering vulnerable women and children living in Africa’s largest slum.
Day 3
Explore the sights and sounds of Africa’s largest urban slum under the safe guidance of the Mirror of Hope team. Visit the home of your sponsor student and feast on a delicious traditional Kenyan lunch that you will cook.
Day 4
Mystery day.
Day 5
Travel to the Masai Mara and afternoon game drive.
Day 6 - 9
Morning and evening game drives inside the Masai Mara. Options for yoga, meditation and relaxing by the pool during the day. Overnight in a luxury safari camp.
The Masai Mara is one of Africa's premier safari parks. It is also home to the Great Migration, one of only two parks where you can witness the natural spectacle of more than 1,000,000 wildebeest and zebra passing through the Masai Mara on their annual migration between Jul - Sep.
