Sharing Shore Excursion from Naples Port to Pompeii Positano Sorrento and Amalfi Coast

A truly memorable day out – you will be collected from your ship at Naples Port and driven to Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast in a comfortable minibus.

A very knowledgeable English-speaking guide will ensure that you make the most of your time in Pompeii. It is impossible to walk around all of Pompeii in a day but with our carefully-planned route we will ensure you’ll see the very best of this amazing historical site and get a real flavour of Pompeii before the volcanic eruption. With the backdrop of the still active Mount Vesuvius you will see the Theatre, the Forum, the Pleasure Houses, the Thermal Baths, the Mills and the Gladiators' Barracks. You will walk the ancient streets and see the carriage tracks from 2000 years ago, see some of the original 'fast food' outlets and wonder at the many plaster casts of those who died in the eruption. There is truly something for everyone!

After your tour of Pompeii we stop for a quick 'cappuccino' and to take the opportunity to purchase a memento from one of the many local artisan stalls. Back onto the bus and we head along the Amalfi Coast towards Sorrento. Don’t forget your camera! On the way we stop at one of the most picturesque viewpoints on the coast for a photo opportunity overlooking the magnificent azure waters of the Bay of Naples.

The town of oranges and lemons, Sorrento is the 'jewel in the crown' of the Amalfi Coast, rich in history and unbelievably beautiful. It was the preferred holiday destination of Roman Empowers and the elite of Italy. You will have free time to explore the maze of streets in the old town, take the opportunity to taste some of the local specialities, enjoy a 'gelato' and perhaps have a glass of the famous Limoncello.

Back onto the minibus and we head along the winding coast road towards Positano, stopping along the way so that you can take photos of the stunning views. In Positano you will be charmed by the white fishermans’ houses overlooking the clear blue water and the delightful alleyways where you will find beautiful ceramics shops and numerous little boutiques. But not only will the sights stay with you forever, the fragrance of the flowers and fruit trees will linger in your memory long after you leave this bewitching village.

In the late afternoon we head back to Rome with dreams of Pompeii, Sorrento, Positano and the stunning Amalfi Coast!
