About this activity
Meet your guide by Salita S. Anna di Palazzo in neighborhood chiaia and then set off on your 2-hour walking tour to explore the Quartieri Spagnoli.
Colors and traditions abound in the area, and as you walk your guide will point out legends, stories and lifestyle of these alleyways over the centuries and examples of beautiful Barocco architecture.
You'll stop at Palazzo della Stamperia. Apparently, an anonymous building, it is the ancient location of a seat of the royal printing house (a seat was also in the royal palace itself). Later he hosted a chocolate factory. Now it's a crib to discover.
Continue walking to the piazzetta Rosario di Palazzo where you will admire Sant’anna di palazzo Church, a cult building witnessed some important historical events related to two importants chracters of Napoli: Luca Giordano, the painter and Eleonora Pimentel Fonseca the revolutionary of which the guide will tell the stories.
You'll then head in vico lungo trinità degli spagnoli where you will explore the contemporary street art in Naples and artists stories. Then you will see from outside the Nuovo tratro Nuovo, a little theatre really important for the history of theatre in naples.
Finally, you'll walk to gradini San Liborio, where you will find examples of neapolitan popular architecture: “I bassi” typical houses facing the street with a single room and a window. You will see also votive newsstands on the streets and will know details about particular relationship that Neapolitans have with saints.
Finish the tour in the Pignasecca market, where you will sample a typical neapolitan street food
