Day 1: Day 1: New Delhi – Agra

Stop At: Akbar's Tomb, Sikandra Road, Sikandra India
One of the most important bases of Mughal power, Agra is home to some of the finest examples of Mughal architecture. One of these is Akbar's Tomb at Sikandra , where one of the greatest emperors in the world lies buried. Perhaps the greatest monarch India has ever seen and definitely the most powerful and able ruler of the Mughal dynasty, Akb ar supervised the construction of the tomb himself during his lifetime.

Some of the treasures of architecture that grace the city include the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Itimad-ud-Daulah's Tomb. The Tomb of Itimad Ud Daulah was constructed by the Mughal queen Nur Jahan between 1622 and 1628 where her father Itimad Ud Daulah was buried.
