About this activity

You’ll meet your expert, Spanish-speaking guide in Battery Park and see a few of the historic buildings, including Castle Clinton National Monument, Pier A Harbor House, the American Merchant Mariner’s Memorial, the Sphere and New York Korean War Veteran’s Memorial, before catching one of the first ferries to Liberty Island. With priority boarding, you’ll get one of the best seats on the ferry and arrive at the Statue before it gets really crowded. Once there, you’ll enjoy stunning views back over the city and a guided tour that takes you right onto the pedestal, getting you closer to Lady Liberty than a regular visit. As you go, you’ll learn the history of this American icon in Spanish, from its inception as an extravagant gift that no one wanted to one of the preeminent symbols of the country. Then it’s back on the ferry and on to Ellis Island, where you’ll follow in the footsteps of 12 million immigrants who passed through here in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. With your expert guide on hand to give context and answer questions, you’ll tour the museum and see some of the main landmarks, like Stairs of Separation. Your tour ends in Ellis Island, so you can stay a little longer if you’d like, or head back on the ferry with your guide. With small groups of 20 people or fewer and early morning ferries to the islands, it is certain your tour will be peaceful and relaxed, removing the stress and frustrations of the average visit. And with an expert guide on hand you’re certain to learn a thing or two, getting more from your experience than you would have on your own.
