The Museum of Modern Art, better known for its acronym MoMA, is an art museum located in Midtown Manhattan (New York), on 11 West with 53rd Street and between Fifth and Sixth Avenue.

It houses pieces such as The Starry Night by Van Gogh, Broadway Boogie-Woogie by Piet Mondrian, The Misses of Avignon (1907) by Pablo Picasso, 1 The Persistence of the Memory of Salvador Dalí and works by American artists such as Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol and Edward Hopper.

It was founded by American philanthropists Lillie P. Bliss, Mary Quinn Sullivan and Abby Aldrich Rockefeller, 2 to "help people understand, use and enjoy the visual arts of our time." It opened its doors to the public on November 7, 1929. The museum is one of the largest in the country.
