About this activity
We leave Panama City behind to head for the province of Colon by way of the historic Panama Canal Railway. Your guide will be waiting for you at the station and ready to take you to the brand new Gatun locks expansion site to witness history in the making. See the new locks being built and due to open in 2016. We then head to Chagres National Park to visit the UNESCO world heritage site of Fort San Lorenzo, Panama’s most spectacular 17th-century Spanish ruins. On our way back we stop for lunch on the water at the historic US military base Fort Sherman before making our way back to Panama City. Please keep in mind that this tour has an early start time and does not include breakfast. We recommend that you take measures to plan ahead by having something to eat at your hotel or bring with you before we pick you up in the morning.
