About this activity

After check-in, our passengers get on board our buses that transports them to the Gamboa Dredging Division Panama Canal facilities.

This transfer lasts approx. 45 minutes. And it is a beautiful ride thru the rainforest. Once in Gamboa, the passengers board our Mega Catamaran “The Panamar” to begin the amazing tour of the Panama Canal.

The partial tour of the Panama Canal begins at the northern entrance of the Culebra Cut, known as its curves resembling a snake. “The Panamar” navigates the 13.7 kilometers that comprise the cut on its way to the Pedro Miguel Locks. We will navigate under the Centennial Bridge before entering the Pedro Miguel Locks. In the Pedro Miguel Locks, the vessel descends 9 meters to Miraflores Lake, which is a small freshwater lake that separates the two locks on the Pacific side of the Canal. We go through Miraflores Lake until we reach the Miraflores Locks where the vessel descends a total of 18 meters in two stages.

At the end of its descent, “The Panamar” reaches the waters of the Pacific Ocean. From there the boat cruises to the Flamenco Marina and our passengers disembark as we end our tour. On the route to Flamenco Marina, you will navigate underneath the bridge of the Americas, the spectacular Causeway, and as we round to enter our marina you will get a nice glimpse at our beautiful city skyline.
