The Miraflores locks of the Panama Canal constitute a marvel of the engineer, and it is not surprising that they are the most visited place in Panama, perhaps because they have a modern Visitor Center where, in addition to being able to observe the actual operation of the locks as huge ships pass, there is an interesting museum, with an extension of more than 1,7 Km and a height of 25 meters, The size of the Miraflores locks is overwhelming. When huge cruise ships and supertankers the size of a 10 storey building pass easily a few inches away, you feel the size of an ant. The journey through these twin locks located at the Pacific entrance to the Canal takes about 10 minutes.
