About this activity
Meet your local state accredited guide at the bus station in Paraty at 9am.

After a bus journey of approximately 40 minutes you will arrive in the old slaving port of Paraty Mirim where you will catch a boat to go into the Mamangua Tropical Fjord, only accessible by sea or by walking trail. From the beach below the Mamangua Sugarloaf peak it is a steep uphill hike of 1 hour to reach the top. No technical climbing with ropes required. The peak is a large flat rock surface offering unobstructed views of the Mamangua, Fundão, Paraty and Ilha Grande bays. After hiking down again there is a stop on the beach where there is a kiosk serving fresh seafood dishes. On the way back to catch the bus the boat stops at another beach for a swim, depending on the weather conditions.

The bus arrives back in Paraty at about 5:30pm
