This program is designed to enable smaller groups of only 4 guests to enjoy the day out so it therefore requires taking the train from Paris Bercy station to Cosne sur Loire . The train tickets will be sent to your hotel for collection with clear instructions. Train departs from Paris Bercy train station 9.11am and arrives Cosne-sur-Loire at 10.58am where you will be greeted by your driver-guide.
Your guide will accompany you to the local street market where you will be able to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere. Then you will be taken for a short drive into the vineyards where the history of wine making in this region will be explained.
Lunch is in a typical inn where you might want to sample specialities such as such as « whitebait » from the river Loire or warm goats' cheese served on toasts with a bed of fresh lettuce and diced bacon, and of course washed down with some of the delicious wines of the region. (lunch is not included in the price of the tour. Reckon on between 25€-30€ per person).

The first part of the afternoon will be spent in very attractive, historic town of Sancerre. You will enjoy a visit to a local wine-maker and learn more the art of making world class Sauvignon blanc wines. You will also enjoy a short historical walking tour of the town of Sancerre, a former Huguenot bastion, and which enjoys commanding views over the famous Loire river. You will also be able to visit the excellent « Maison des Sancerre » where guests can discover the winemakers' passion for their wines, terroirs and region through a unique interpretative and entertaining tour appreciated by all ages

A short drive over the impressive river Loire will take you to the vineyards of Pouilly-sur-Loire where a visit to a local winery and vineyards will be your opportunity to learn all about of making some of these much sought-after white wines. The visit will be followed by a tasting of the estate's wines. It will also be the occasion to discover an increasingly rare wine made from the Chasselas varietal.

At the end of your adventure your driver-guide will accompany you to the station for a 7.03pm departure which arrives at Paris Bercy station for 8.49pm
