About this activity
This small group tour will connect the artwork at the Musée d’Orsay with the neighborhood that was home to most of its artists, Montmartre. Step back in time to the 19th century, when Paris was living the Belle Epoque, when cancan dancers kicked high, and when artists enjoyed absinthe in cafés. Explore the cobbled streets stretching between the Moulin Rouge and the Sacré Coeur basilica, considered to be the home of the art movement known as Impressionism. After a break for lunch, head to the Musée d’Orsay to browse the artworks painted by Montmartre’s famous inhabitants like Toulouse-Lautrec, Renoir, and Van Gogh.
